From EU-funded collaborations to new colleagues and upcoming webinars, there’s plenty happening at Capitainer right now. Scroll down to see the latest highlights!

The UTI-Diag project is now online!
With the official kick-off in April this year, the project just recently launched a website and a set of social media accounts for communication of progress and results.
With funding support from the European Union through EDCTP3 and UK Research and Innovation, the project brings together 11 partners from Europe and Africa representing a groundbreaking multisectoral initiative designed to transform how we approach urinary tract infections globally.
The overall goals of the project are:
✅ Deliver affordable, rapid diagnostics
✅ Strengthen antimicrobial stewardship
✅ Advance equitable healthcare access
In the project, Capitainer is leading the work package “Non/minimally invasive sampling and processing”

Perhaps some reading for the weekend? 📖
Have you read our latest blog post on kidney health management? And who knows… could there be something on the Capitainer horizon? 👀
Capitainer in addiction research
Capitainer’s technology is increasingly being adopted in addiction research. We are proud to share that three different studies are now either ongoing or about to start, all using our microsampling solutions.
Among them is the COMIT study, focused on innovative digital interventions for substance use, and the PAC study, which investigates the relationship between controlled alcohol intake, blood alcohol concentration (BAC), and phosphatidylethanol (PEth) levels in blood.
The third study is the Spectrum study, which explores alcohol use disorder and its links to consumption patterns and treatment outcomes. The COMIT study is carried out by Linköping University while both PAC and Spectrum are carried out by the same group at the University of Gothenburg (Beroendemedicin | Göteborgs universitet).
Webinar: what’s next?
As we speak, our Marketing Manager Ingrid is at our lab, miQro, in Rhode Island visiting the team there – and of course planning the next Capitainer webinar! And guess what? Of course, it will be all about lead testing – what else!
