Experiences with Capitainer Products
During the Covid-19 pandemic, ABC Labs provided large-scale analysis of Covid-19 antibody levels using dried blood spots collected via Capitainer’s microsampling card. The method proved both reliable in home environments and highly scalable during the pandemic. Each patient received a microsampling kit by mail with clear, easy-to-follow instructions, performed the sampling themselves, and returned the card to the laboratory for analysis.
Today, ABC Labs offers a comprehensive drugs-of-abuse testing panel using the Capitainer card, with the option of digitally monitored self-sampling. We also provide PEth analysis on the same platform.
About ABC Labs
ABC Labs was founded in response to the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and rapidly grew to become Sweden’s largest pandemic laboratory. At peak capacity, we analyzed 30,000 samples per day with a 24-hour turnaround time, partnering with the Public Health Agency of Sweden to deliver testing for 17 regions, representing up to 28% of all national PCR tests.
Today, we are applying our next-generation diagnostics infrastructure to corporate and organizational drug testing. Using state-of-the-art LC-MS/MS technology, we provide fast and comprehensive multi-panel drug-of-abuse screenings and alcohol biomarker analyses for workplaces, treatment centers, and public institutions.
Accredited by SWEDAC (no. 10532) under ISO 15189, we maintain the highest standards of quality and competence. Our testing protocols follow EWDTS guidelines and are integrated into rigorous national and international quality assurance programs. To scale high-quality testing and enhance accessibility, we are investing in next-generation remote sampling solutions, including Capitainer microsampling combined with digital self-sampling technologies.
